Adolf Abel
Adolf Wilhelm Abel (18 October 1914 – 26 August 1944) was a highly decorated Oberstleutnant in the Wehrmacht during World War II. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross (German: Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes). The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Adolf Abel was killed on 26 August 1944 near Gura Galbena, Moldova.
